Description: Two Art History Tours! Wednesday May 8th at 10:30 am
Sir William Orpen: A Family Legacy
The current exhibition at Farmleigh focuses on the life and work of one of Ireland’s greatest and most influential artists, Sir William Orpen. There are paintings, drawings, letters and other fascinating objects relating to him. The most exciting aspect of this exhibition for me is that there are also works by other members of his family including his parents, his brother and his niece. Most of the items are still in the private family collection and are rarely if ever on display publicly making this a rare opportunity to really appreciate this artistic family.
Farmleigh House has artworks from the state art collection including many works by important Irish Artists, this tour will provide a history of the house with the focus on the art currently on display.
I will guide you in the Orpen exhibition and we will have a Farmleigh guide in the house.
Location: Farmleigh House and Gallery, Phoenix Park, Dublin.
Fee: €45 per person Book here
